Thats it for another season of predictions. The season has had everything! Controversy, comebacks, shocks but altogether its been competitive throughout.Paul Mooney's reign of dominance is over, his quest for three in a row came to an end as Martin McDade won his first predictions championship. The reigning champion didnt give his crown up without a fight. Winning two monthly awards along the way, he was one of the three involved in a three horse race which developed throughout the season. A late surge for the title was in sight but McDade racked up several exact scores to re-establish a lead at the top. However Mooney can take heart that he finished the season predicting the least amount of incorrect scores.Scott Wilson along with McDade and Mooney made the three horse race for the 09/10 season. The pre-season bonus questions came into play at the end of the season as he managed to pip Mooney for runners up spot and left the reigning champion with nothing to show for his efforts except for his two monthly prizes. Wilson, in his debut season also accumlated 3 monthly awards.Last year's runner up Ewen Nicolson will be disappointed with his fall from grace. There wasn't even a monthly award to console the big man as he was unable to build any momentum from last season's comfortable 2nd place finish. Has his last two years in predictions mirrored Partick Thistle's efforts the past two seasons? Coincidence? Perhaps making wedding plans has distracted him and may be glad for a fresh start next season.Despite protesting and walking away for a good few weeks, Martin McGinley also won himself 3 monthly awards throughout the season. That itself epitomises why the monthly awards keep the predictions very competitive. Can he take his form into next season? At the bottom of the table, Adam Monaghan finishes bottom of the pile for the second consecutive season. Missed deadlines let him down once again. Can he overcome these 'injury problems'? lol. After showing some promise in previous years, Martin McDade finally took the next step and not only sustained a challenge but got over the finishing line and triumphed for his first predictions championship! Winning the title is hard, but defending it is even harder, the newly crowned champion insists not even the imminent arrival of parenthood will deter his title defence. To end the summary of 09/10, thank you to all who took part and made football at the weekend that little bit more interesting. However, there can only be one winner, one champion. Congratulations to Martin McDade
